We all have a journey, a story. Personal struggles and public defeats. You have been given a cross to carry. Mark 8:34 “When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” You have a choice to carry your cross and follow the path of salvation, spiritually and psychologically. To put everything in subordination to the cross, the pain, takes a special commitment. Do you choose the pain or the ease and pleasure? Do you choose the purification or the rust?
To give up everything for Christ is not an easy thing, in fact it is likely the hardest thing you will ever do. Deciding to follow after him with your cross. Your cross is your life and that which you endure, the challenges and fractures. They tortured him and will do the same to you in various ways. Though there is much pain, there is good news in this pursuit. Call upon Christ and he will share your burden, he will help you to carry your cross up the hill. When you collapse he will help you up and keep you moving forward. You will carry your cross your entire life, but when you die, you will die in Christ. To follow Christ one must give up family, friends, ambition, and dreams.
I call on you to take up your cross as Christ and follow him to Calvary.
