Midwestern Saint, Free Verse Poetry

Soil stained with blood

Tread upon by the men

Tread upon by the women

By the man they trusted

By the man they gave their

Life and love to

Incoherent screams of irationality abound

As the masses throw him around

Fury not quenched.

Leather worn

Freedom exudes through

Creaks in the floorboards

The challenger commands his

Soldiers

To reclaim the land

The tradition that once was.
