Do Demons really exist?
First off, when we think of a demon, we may think of a terrifying demonic creature that attacks those who may be unlucky enough to meet them. Right? Well, that is our cultural view of a demon, and sure that is partly true, we must remember to always look to the Bible for the full truth about demons and how they relate to us as Christians. In Ephesians 6:12, it says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against the worldly governors, the princes of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness, which are in the high places.”
So, what does this verse mean? Well, I believe this verse means that demons are not merely floating around attacking at random rather, they are organized in resistance to Christ, fighting actively against Christians. Demons are everywhere, and they have invaded our media, music, politics, and even our homes. We fight physical battles, but what causes those physical battles? The unseen thoughts and feelings. Demons are very clever; at manipulation, and they continually use it for their benefit against us.
How else do we know that demons exist? Throughout history, there are countless stories of ghosts, hauntings, and the supernatural. Demons masquerade themselves as to all sorts of things to feed into the cultural narrative. We must not forget that demons have far greater intelligence than humans and can use that against us effectively. Additionally, I believe that demons provide one of the most significant pieces of evidence for God. Demonic possession in recent years has become popular in media, but the truth is that possession is authentic and dangerous, and we continually have well documented authentic cases.
We then ask why these demons react specifically to Christians, and most importantly, Christ himself. Does this not give us extraordinary evidence that these demons are fighting against Christ and us, confirming the Bible? I genuinely believe that when a demon reacts to the name of Christ, that is one of the best examples of the existence of God that a human can see. I wish to leave you with a Bible verse, my friends. Mark 3:11 And when the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
